At this year's UN Habitat General Assembly in Nairobi, UNASDG Co-Founder Mr. Roland Schatz (CEO & Founder UNGSII) and envoys from the Government of the Republic of Tunisia set the base for the project's first milestone. UNASDG has confirmed to provide the Republic of Tunisia not only sufficient investment capital but also the provision of financial resources for the payment of a Universal Basic Income (UBI) to every Tunisian citizen aged 1-99 or older. Currently, UNASDG is awaiting the commitment of the Republic of Tunisia to be able to implement the discussed commitments on the part of UNASDG in order to achieve the the common goals as soon as possible. Mr. Ayed Belgacen (Chairman of the General Committee for Sector and Regional Development) and Mr. Nejib Snoussi (General Director of Housing) sounded confident that a launch before end of this year would still be possible.
