Enabling Sustainable Transformation

The Sustainable Development Goals present complex and multifaceted challenges for both governments and the private sector. The UnASDG stands ready to support these efforts by deploying qualified experts, strengthening institutions and enabling the structured implementation of sustainable policies and investments. The intelligent use of innovative technologies, responsible urban planning, and strategically aligned capital deployment form the foundation for achieving the globally adopted goals.

UnASDG assists governments, developers and accredited partners in the development, supervision and execution of SDG-aligned projects. This includes the design and monitoring of implementation frameworks as well as the provision of tailored financing modules to accelerate and safeguard delivery.

A central objective of UnASDG is to actively contribute to the mission to increase the share of global sustainable investment from its current level of 3–6% to at least 20% by 2025. In this context, UnASDG promotes and realizes Lighthouse Projects that serve as demonstrable models for the successful achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals as defined by the United Nations and adopted by 193 Member States of the UNGA.

Legal Status of UnASDG IGO

The UnASDG IGO operates on the basis of a founding charter (2019) and executes public international functions within the framework of sustainable development policy and intergovernmental cooperation.
Under international law, the legal identity of an intergovernmental organisation derives from its constituent instrument and state consent — not from affiliation with the United Nations.
The existence of non-UN IGOs such as OECD, OPEC, G20 and BRICS confirms this principle.
The use of a domestic legal vehicle for operational compliance does not alter an organisation’s international character.
MoUs with governments constitute recognised instruments of institutional cooperation in international practice.
The UnASDG IGO therefore satisfies the accepted criteria for an intergovernmental organisation and may lawfully engage with governments, regulators and central banks on that basis.
"...If you really want to do something, you'll find a way.
If you don't, you'll find an excuse."
