UNASDG Diplomatic Council CEO Dr. Reuben Egolf met the Honourable Mr. Dyfed Aubrey in New York during the UNGA on 19th September 2023.
Dr. Egolf and Mr. Aubrey (Senior Advisor UN Habitat, Inter-Regional Advisor) discussed new opportunities for joint implementation of the sustainable goals to be achieved and, in particular, sustainable funding through UNASDG, following the signing of an agreement between UNASDG and UN Habitat for this purpose.
UNASDG, through its linked Investment Facility, intends to provide financing for the SDG Cities Flagship Program for "SDG Cities Certification" with realization of a first pilot project in each participating city globally. The program shall be implemented collaboratively with UNGSII, UN Habitat and international accounting-/ and financial-institutions and experts and financed by UNASDGs linked Investment Facility, after individual basics are clarified.
UNASDG, through its linked Investment Facility, has jointly developed a unique and, most importantly, secure approach for UN member states to implement and finance the SDGs globally, as well as to provide funding for the implementation of individual social and humanitarian assistance programs without delay.
For this purpose, UNASDG has established an Action Task Force, consisting of international experts, which can process the actions immediately and without delays in order to reach the goal as quickly and efficiently as possible.
The results will be published globally at relevant meetings and events.
